 About The Artist

Helen Wilson is a California based fine artist with a Masters of Fine Arts from The San Francisco Art Institute and a Bachelors in English from The United States International University, which she attended in San Diego and Bushey England. She also attended the Free Academy of the Arts in Den Haag, The Netherlands. She has taught Design & Composition, Introduction to Art, Drawing I, II & Figure Drawing, Sculpture I & II and Foundry at Palomar College. She is the facilitator of the Artists Group Tuesday Nights. Ms. Wilson is also the Director of The Art Center of Ramona.

Helen’s work explores who we are; the genetic and social forces that form us. Using images of children, their toys and fairy tales as tools, she is questioning our relationship to the child we once were and the children among us. She is also asking questions about adult memories of childhood. What do we remember? How do these memories affect our beliefs about childhood?  More importantly, how have these beliefs and fears affected our children?
